Just curious if anyone knows when and how often the Gophers are allowed for workouts and conditioning. I know the NCAA has strict rules on the times allowed.
Hey Rich Rodriguez are you listening? Or maybe you can clue us in. HA.
Go Gophers!!!

This is never covered. Not in the has been media, a blog, or by the intrepid Gopher Lady. Coach Hill must run an extemely tight ship. No news, no postings, no progress. Absolutely nothing. I think it is the most intreguing time of the year. Just who is committed to weight room, and track. Who is the leader in the categories, who is the all time record holder? If you are not committed to lifting in January you aren't going to drive anyone off the ball in October. Why this isn't covered is a little bit the program, a litte bit of laziness in the media, and maybe more importantly I am only one who finds it important.

It is a fascinating component. I for one would like to know more about what is going on. The developmental aspect of Brews strategy was stated quite clearly when Brew took over. All centering on coach Hill. Next year we will start to see the impact, and more the year after. It is what we have waited for, and yet no coverage. It's too bad.

They could be getting their conditioning done by running from the cops these days...

I know that you are trying to be funny Art, but you just drug down many, many of the U's finest young men with that comment.

Yeah right...it's a meaningless message board, not a State of the Union address.
Like Bleed said in another thread, they had more arrests than TD's while in Arizona. Maybe they should quit providing material.

"You Lie!"
Yep, lots of respect shown for the President as well.

'you lie' was rep. joe wilson's heckling of the President during his speech to the joint sessionof congress.
I didn't intend to start a pissing match, i just am one who feels like the goodstuff isn't reported enough and the bad stuff is blown out of proportion. Not talking about whaley as much as the other guy who was cited for an underage. I just don't see why underage drinking on new years eve is newsworthy.

Kids don't drink until they turn twenty one, unless they're terrible, terrible human beings. It's a good thing we catch every single one of them so we can punish them. It's the only way to stop this travesty from spreading and becoming an epidemic. Why without such diligence more kids would drink prior to the age of twenty one, why soon most would!! then what would happen to this fine country?? hmmm??
Kick em all off everyone of them!
Next thing you know they'll start having premarital sex. I shudder at the thought. Unless it's two young women then I'm not sure, I'll think about that some more, alot more.

I was more interested in the players squat numbers, rather than the squat that started with Van De Lay started with a quip. The incidents seem to take more focus over the dedication it takes in the involuntary season. If you are pounding iron, rather than pounding one back we will be better next year. And I cannot find any reports on team violations following the game. Is Wynn suspended, was he assigned more laps. Is he still on the roster? When there is no reporting their is only rumor and guessing.

Involuntary season?
Yeah right!

All one has to do is glimpse our offensive (literally) line to know not much conditioning or discipline takes a priority with this squad.

Can we restart this thread?

consider it restarted. I would love to know what they do in the winter but they seem to keep it locked up pretty tight. I would venture to guess that nobody on that team is going to enjoy much of any of there fball work until fall camp is over. Its awfully tough getting out of bed in the winter to work out and without a game to look forward to at the end of spring camp there is not one guy who 'likes' those fall camp type practices. Everyone, however, knows that it is the most important time of the year for a college football player. Definately love/hate, with an emphasis on the hate.

Husker, I agree 100% that this time of year is when players/teams are improved the most. I would love to see some numbers, times, or reports on the team.
It seems to me, from what I've heard through the last couple of years, that Brew's teams work extremely hard in the weight room and track during the offseason. Hopefully we can see some noticeable improvement and strength next fall. If they do work their asses off it should be pretty obvious.
