1989-90 Elite Eight Team

I wasn't able to go to the game a few days ago, but a friend picked me up one of the pennants they gave out. Anyway, it was fun looking over the names at the bottom of the pennant. It must have been great to see all the players honored.

Names like Burton, Newbern, Lynch, Coffey, McDonald, etc. are guys you always remember. But it was the names I hadn't heard for twenty years that were fun to look over (Junior Graves, Connell Lewis, Rob Roe, etc.)

I wish I could have been there.

That team was so amazing in their progression over the 4 years of Burton and Newbern. I believe they only won 1 or 2 games in the Big 10 their freshmen year. You brought up Connell Lewis, what a defensive guard. I certainly think that Newbern had to improve going against him in practice.
