Could someone please explain this...

...I check this board regularly enough that I can't believe I missed this, but from Dec. 17 ESPN wrote, about White and a YouTube video, that he was leaving the program.

Then Andy Katz repeated the same thing on his ESPN blog.

However, nowhere on this board did I ever get the sense that he actually was leaving (I'm sure I just missed it, inconceivably)...OK, but then what in the world is going on with the latest news that past players are talking to White and that he is now back and practicing with the team.

Did he leave or did he not?

What's so hard to understand? He posted a video on YouTube. Nothing else ever happened. As of 12/31/09 pronouncments made on YouTube are still not binding at the Univeristy of Minnesota or a Court of Law. Therefore, it's just a lot of noise until Tubby Smith or Joel Maturi issue an official statement that he's gone. Given the fact that he was at practice today, the opposite may be true. But until one of those same two men say he's reinstated, that's also just noise. Similarly, when Brett Favre retires/unretires the next time just ignore it until about August 15th.

He did NOT leave Minnesota.

Actually, it says more about the intense desire for the national media to be "first on the story". Laughable that they all jumped at this "news" - solely based on a YouTube posting.
