Ryan Wittman scored 34 today in Cornell's 78-75 road win over a decent LaSalle team. This is a very good basketball team, one that can compete with and beat quality teams. It's not all just Wittman, either. They have size, too, a 7-footer (Jeff Foote) who can play.

You heard it here first; an Ivy League school has a chance for an at-large bid. Cornell's resume will be decent enough to be a viable at-large candidate in the event it doesn't get the Ivy League's automatic bid (behind Harvard), so long as they don't lose more than a couple league games. Would really help Cornell if they can remain competitive vs. Kansas on Jan. 6th in Lawrence. Don't have to win, but don't get embarrassed.

SI projects Gophers #7 seed versus Cornell #10 in Jaxonville (NCAA tourney).
