There are 12 teams that are looking to replace that big goose-egg in the win column with their first Division 1 victory. (The NJIT Highlanders, strangely enough, are not among them having beat Wagner just before Thanksgiving.)

For those of us who remember Dan Monson's last season, there's a feeling of schadenfreude to see Marist in the list. (Damned Old Spice Classic) And, the prior year's loss to Gardner Webb also brings a bit of a smile to my lips. For those of us who weary of the Sioux's hockey smugness, there's also a feeling of schadenfreude to see North Dakota struggling.

I'll confess to still being puzzled by Penn's presence this year as well as last year. Look for Glen Miller to be replaced by end of year.

OTOH, you have to hand it to Arkansas-Pine Bluff (and apparently lots of teams handed 'em a big check for showing up as pre-conference fodder). They've yet to play at home and according to Jerry Palm's site, they've played the 4th strongest schedule (including Kansas State, Michigan, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, etc)

Here's the dozen still looking for their first Div 1 win:
Rank & School - Won/Loss & RPI - Strength of Schedule
205 - UA Pine Bluff (0-10) RPI:0.4751 SOS Rank: 4 (0.6334)
263 - Gardner Webb (0-7) RPI:0.4362 SOS Rank: 29 (0.5816)
309 - Winston Salem St (0-7) RPI:0.3928 SOS Rank: 112 (0.5238)
312 - Alabama St (0-8) RPI:0.3908 SOS Rank: 120 (0.5211)
317 - UT Martin (0-9) RPI:0.3835 SOS Rank: 140 (0.5114)
318 - Alcorn St (0-12) RPI:0.383 SOS Rank: 143 (0.5107)
323 - North Dakota (0-11) RPI:0.3762 SOS Rank: 161 (0.5016)
325 - Miss Valley St (0-11) RPI:0.372 SOS Rank: 173 (0.496)
329 - Stetson (0-7) RPI:0.3682 SOS Rank: 187 (0.4909)
335 - NCCU (0-10) RPI:0.3594 SOS Rank: 220 (0.4793)
339 - Alabama A&M (0-3) RPI:0.3497 SOS Rank: 244 (0.4663)
340 - Bryant (0-12) RPI:0.3476 SOS Rank: 255 (0.4634)
345 - Pennsylvania (0-7) RPI:0.3262 SOS Rank: 304 (0.4349)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Glen Miller has already been whacked.

Good catch ... that one escaped me. Looks like Maturi was simply ahead of his time ... ;)

""Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Glen Miller has already been whacked. ""

He was not whacked. He died while being a tremendous Big Band Era Orchestra Leader.

The Stetson Hatters 0-7! I always thought they had one of the best nicknames.

They're actually 2-7...
Only if you include their two wins against non-Division I teams -- Palm Beach Atlantic University (Division II) and Averett University (Division III). They're 0-7 in Division I competition.
