We got beat by a decent team from a better conference and our late season swoon continues. Don't be fooled by the non-conf wins. We're still a long way from where we want to be in the Big Ten and on the national scene.

Need O-Line depth, size and strength and a running back that can hit a hole, plus a deep threat WR.

On D we need speed and depth in the secondary and better LBers.

Interestingly enough...see recruiting class, incoming redshirts, grey shirts and transfers. We will be better next year.

Excellent evaluation, Philly, and it appears that we are addressing each of these things in this incoming recruiting class. We've really only had one year of recruiting under the Brew. Let's just relax here on New Year's eve and enjoy another beer and a small toke of reality.

Better say, we will have better players next year. As we learned this year, better players doesn't necessarily translate to better play.

All else equal, yes they do. 1-11 vs. 7-5 is a very big improvement. In that 1-11 season we lost to the cream puff teams we beat this year. In addition we are now clearly out of the bottom of the B-10. We've gone from number 11 to maybe number 7 or 8. That's a huge improvement with with 1 year and 3 weeks of recruiting. Better players absolutely translate into better play and next year we'll be better yet. Will we be the top 2 or 3 of the B-10? No, but we could be just below that.
