His intention was to enroll last winter at UM and thus be eligible to play much of last year. He had a terrible AAU tournament in front of Gopher coaches shortly after giving verbal commitment to Mn. The Gophers decided that Al Nolan would get them though 07/08 and wanted the scholarship for bigger fish. At the time I believe that scholarship was intended for Verdel Jones whom the coaches decided was better.
