The deal makes great sense, but man am I going to miss Go-Go. He was kind of like the team mascot.
The question I have is what does this say about the Twins plans for the infield. Is Cabrera gone then? Or do they shuffle and we have an infield of Cabrera, Punto, and Hardy?
I certainly expect the Twins to be idle at third with the youngsters so close to their MLB debuts, and so it makes sense that they'd try and be done with it all after this deal, but I wonder.
Quite frankly i think this makes them done all the way around. neshek coming back pretty much fills out the bullpen. They need to shed a starting pitcher yet and we all know who that will be, but I think we're set.

This also probably continues to prove toward's Felde's belief that Delmon will be good, and the Twins are going to give him time to develop.
Much to my disliking :(.

Cabrera is gone. He is a free agent anyway. They've already told him he would not be back.

I am going to miss Gomez a lot, much like someone above said. He brought tons of energy to the team, something guys like Mauer and Morneau need a jolt of every once in a while.
I'd love to be right about Delmon, but not many people seem to agree with my assessment. I have no personal attachment to him, and would not be disappointed were he traded for a solid return, but I simply think we would not get anywhere near in return what he has shown in flashes, and can- I believe- bring in the future. I think it would be premature to give up on him now.

i'm definitely going to miss go-go...he made games exciting with his actions and was a boost to the team, kind of like a quick offensive player off the bench for basketball...too bad gomez didn't have delmon's bat, then he'd be the boss...i'm still looking for ways to make fun of my wisconsin friends for this though, but i know nothing about hardy, haha

One hole filled.
:clap:Assuming his offense bounces back, yep.
That just leaves 3B, 2B, LF, a couple starters, half a bullpen, a manager, general manager...
